    2023 - 2024 Sifton School Registration

    NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

    If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

    Kindergarten registration, and students new to Edmonton Public Schools opens on February 1, 2023.

    PRE-ENROLMENT FOR CURRENT EDMONTON PUBLIC STUDENTS

    Pre-enrolment opens to parents at 9 a.m. on March 6, 2023. You will need to pre-enrol in SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Pre-enrolment closes to parents at 4 p.m. on April 14, 2023.

    Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between March and April each year.

Welcome to Sifton School!  The staff and I extend a warm welcome to all students and their families and look forward to working with you!

 

Principal's Message

Sifton School is a special place to learn and grow! We serve approximately 280 students in programs such as Full-Day Kindergarten, Regular grades 1-6, and the Division centre Behaviour and Learning Assistance Program. Sifton School is an energetic, inclusive, safe and caring school!

Our School Vision Statement guides our work with students:

At Sifton School, success will be nurtured through building positive relationships, celebrating family diversity, and providing authentic and engaging learning opportunities for every student. 

At Sifton, one of our greatest gifts is our diverse student population. Our students represent more than 30 cultural and language backgrounds. We celebrate our students’ unique experiences and offer numerous English Language Learner (ELL) supports in our classrooms. Our daily work is grounded in the important literacy skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as numeracy understanding. We offer various forms of literacy and numeracy intervention for students who require additional support.

We are a proud APPLE school where we promote and practice healthy habits around nutrition, physical activity and mental health. Each month, our school learns about different health concepts and participates in fun activities to reinforce healthy habits! In January 2020, with the generous sponsorship of Alberta Education’s School Nutrition Program and e4c, Sifton started offering daily Morning Meals and classroom fruit bowls. Our school is gratefully partnered with many community organizations who support our students in all areas of health and learning!

At Sifton School, we value our team work with our families and community and celebrate the many experiences, interests, and skills that our students bring to our classrooms. Let’s work together to help our students achieve and be the best that they can be!
